Hey guys, i grew up in Potsdam and am now an EMT firefighter in the City of Hood River, OR. We are a small town of about 7,000 tripling in the summer. We are a combination transporting department staffed with mostly EMT - P's. Great web site. Certainly brings back some fond memories of my youth. Stay safe.
I am very proud of my father for being a volunteer firefighter! I have many memories of growing up in the station; climbing on the trucks (most retired now). I remember when Tower 5 was the "NEW" ladder truck! My father was the man in the "Red Suite" for many years! I have photos of me watching a Christmas parade with my father in a fire truck in the "Red Suite". Many of you were second fathers to me and many were high school classmates of mine. Being in an area now where most of the firemen are paid, I am proud of all men who choose to volunteer! I was very excited to see you still do the annual race to the river! That was always so exciting! Does the fire whistle still blow in code? I remember counting them for dad!!! Congratulations Jamie on your new title! Best Wishes to you all!
